iTracer HDDescription
iTracer is a 3D modeling and rendering app for the iPad and iPhone. Create custom 3D scenes and share it easily with friends. Render beautiful high quality images from any view point and save them to your photos album.
Its ray tracing engine supports efficient rendering of implicit objects like spheres and boxes and also generic 3D triangle mesh objects. Materials include high quality transparency, reflection and refraction. Spot and omni light sources produce accurate diffuse and specular lighting with shadows.
Improved over the iPhone version, this release includes simpler interface using 3D manipulators, a better material editor with real-time preview and a material library to store frequently used materials.
The new scene manager supports easy import/export of your scenes. Send scenes by email or open them in iTracer directly from the email app.
Extrusion and revolution meshes are cerated from a closed 2D shape. Previously created meshes can be edited and any modifications to its curve will reflect in all instances of the 3D mesh.
You can also import custom 3DS files using the iTunes application file transfer interface. Just place your 3DS files into the app's documents folder. Any available 3DS files will be presented in the load mesh dialog.
To use the new remote render option, download the Mac OS 10.6 render server app from the support website at:
First, connect all devices to the same wi-fi network. Then run the server app on your Mac computer and look for the server IP address displayed. On your mobile device, access the iTracer render options found in global device settings and enter the server IP address there.
When rendering using a remote server, you will see the server address and progress during rendering. After rendering is finished, the result image is downloaded to the mobile device for viewing.
