The Cartographer runs on iPad and iPod Touch, but isn't designed for these devices. On non-GPS devices, positioning available only near some wifi spots. Positioning on first gen iPhone limited to cellular/wifi.

The Cartographer and Navigon: A perfect match. This feature is great for researching, then running errands around town in the car, as well as getting around when you're travelling.
For the hikers and explorers among us, the compass feature points the way to the selected placemark, with bearing and distance. It even works on the iPod Touch and original iPhone/iPhone 3G: When no inbuilt compass is detected, The Cartographer uses the sun and the time of day to determine a north bearing, and thus the direction to your destination.
